Customer Project Showcases

During the event, we presented several successful customer implementations:

  • Muller AMR robot AI commanded robot
  • Swiss Door manufacture and Eurotech
  • Various manufacturing industry implementations showcasing IoT, cloud and AI integration

Muller AMR - AI commanded mobile robot

ACP Engineering is working with Muller Technology on Mobile robot POC, aimed at modernising their machine monitoring workflow. The project involves deploying industrial IoT gateways that connect directly to the PLCs using the OPC-UA protocol. These gateways collect real-time machine data and transmit it securely to the AWS cloud via MQTT.

In the cloud, ACP Engineering is developing a solution where data is stored and visualised through a custom-built web dashboard. This dashboard supports a multi-tenant architecture, ensuring each customer has secure access only to their own machine data through an intuitive interface. The ACP Engineering team is also working with Eurotech to implement advanced remote access solutions that will improve machine diagnostics and support.

The project roadmap includes an initial proof-of-concept phase, with a target for completion at the K-show industry exhibition in October 2025. ACP Engineering's AWS expertise is enabling Muller to transform their manufacturing monitoring capabilities through cloud technology, creating a more efficient, data-driven approach to machine maintenance and customer support.

Platform Screen Door Monitoring: A Cloud-Enabled Success Story

One of our flagship IoT projects showcases the innovative work ACP Engineering has done to revolutionize platform screen door monitoring in transportation systems around the globe. This project highlights how our team helped transform traditional industrial doors into smart, connected assets that can be remotely monitored and maintained.

Project Background and Challenges

A major platform screen door (PSD) manufacturer faced significant challenges in monitoring and managing their industrial door systems installed across various metro stations in Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. The existing systems lacked remote monitoring capabilities and automated error response mechanisms, resulting in:

  • Inefficient maintenance processes requiring on-site troubleshooting
  • Limited visibility into door performance and health metrics
  • Potential downtime of critical door systems affecting passenger safety
  • Inability to perform predictive maintenance or detect issues before failures

The manufacturer needed a modern IoT solution that could enable real-time data collection, predictive maintenance, and automated incident handling to improve operational efficiency and reduce lifecycle costs.

The ACP Engineering Solution

Our engineers designed and implemented a comprehensive cloud-based IoT solution with three main components:

1. Edge Device Integration

Our solution deployed Eurotech ReliaGATE gateways with AWS IoT Greengrass for edge computing, establishing OPC-UA communication with PLCs. We configured secure provisioning using hardware root of trust and enabled local compute and ML capabilities at the edge.

2. Cloud Infrastructure

We built an IoT-ready AWS landing zone using Infrastructure as Code, implementing IoT Core for device management and SiteWise for data visualization. The architecture includes dedicated production accounts per customer with comprehensive security measures and disaster recovery features.

3. Custom Web Dashboard

Our ReactJS/NextJS application provides a map-based interface showing real-time door status across metro stations, enabling monitoring capabilities with speed profile measurements and motor current visualization, complete with data export functionality.

Business Impact and Go-To-Market Strategy

This solution has transformed the manufacturer's ability to service their global door installations:

  • New Service Offerings: The manufacturer can now offer premium maintenance services with real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance capabilities.
  • Expanded After-Sales Portfolio: The IoT platform enables new recurring revenue streams through software-as-a-service offerings to transit operators.
  • Global Scalability: The solution is designed to scale across multiple metros worldwide, supporting 16+ stations with approximately 40-80 doors per station.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintenance teams can now efficiently manage door installations remotely, identify potential issues before they cause downtime, and ensure reliable operations.
  • Enhanced Customer Value: Transit operators gain unprecedented visibility into door performance, improving reliability, passenger safety, and operational efficiency.

The successful implementation has positioned the door manufacturer as a technology leader in their industry, opening new market opportunities in metros planning upgrades or new installations worldwide.

Technical Achievements

The ACP Engineering team delivered several significant technical accomplishments:

  • Successfully provisioned IoT gateway devices and established data transmission from new door installations
  • Set up secure cloud infrastructure with development and staging environments
  • Implemented a comprehensive backend with deployed development stack
  • Created a security framework with authentication services and IoT security policies
  • Established automated device provisioning processes through configuration optimisation
  • Developed a user-friendly dashboard that provides at-a-glance status of all doors across multiple stations

This project exemplifies how ACP Engineering transforms industrial equipment into connected, intelligent systems that provide tangible business value and create new market opportunities for manufacturers.

Datadog Partnership

We are happy to announced that since early summer in June we achieved Datadog Advanced Partner status, after almost five years of various monitoring and logging project and the last year intensely working on our certifications across the team we can share the news at AWS summit.
